The Enugu State Police Command has intensified its efforts to combat violent crimes with the arrest of thirteen male suspects involved in conspiracy, armed robbery, unlawful possession of firearms, and cult-related activities.
The arrests were made during a series of tactical, intelligence-led operations conducted by the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad, which also led to the recovery of firearms, stolen vehicles, and other incriminating items.
Following a confession by Ekene Akpata (35), who is under investigation for robbery and cultism, operatives stormed Oyofo-Oghe in Ezeagu Local Government Area.
They arrested:Ebuka Odinko (35),Chiemerie Amano (25),Onyebuchi Onyekwere (24)
Investigations reveal that the suspects are members of the Vikings Confraternity, responsible for multiple armed robbery incidents in the state.
Based on further intelligence obtained from two suspects currently in custody Okechukwu Ogbonna (65) and Ezeonuji Charles (52) police operatives extended their operations to Port Harcourt.

In Umuasi Ngwo, three suspects were arrested: Stephen Chidiebere (42), a.k.a. Shaggy,Arinze Udeh (30), a.k.a. Anonymous,Onuigbo Kingsley (49)
A cut-to-size double-barreled gun was recovered. The arrests were connected to earlier findings from Ikemefuna Ani (31), alias “Majority”, linked to the Black Axe cult group and suspected of robbery and firearm possession.
July 15, 2025 Ogui Division: Police operatives, in collaboration with the Neighborhood Watch Group, arrested Ifeanyi Ede (30) in connection with a robbery incident involving a taxi driver.
Ede and an accomplice who remains at large used a pistol-shaped Spark L gas lighter to rob the driver of ₦30,000, a mobile phone worth ₦17,000, car keys, and an ATM card. The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing accomplice.
All suspects remain in custody as investigations continue. Police authorities confirm that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of ongoing inquiries.
Commissioner of Police, psc, commended the operatives for their diligence and professionalism. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding Enugu residents and called on the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
