2027: South East RHGM Backs Governor Mbah for Second Term

By Isaac Mission

The South East chapter of the Renewed Hope Grassroots Movement (RHGM) has declared its support for Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, to continue in office for a second term in the 2027 governorship election.

The group said its endorsement was based on what it described as the governor’s achievements in infrastructure development, economic growth, security improvement, public service reforms, and his administration’s commitment to transforming the state.

In a statement jointly signed by RHGM’s National Zonal Coordinator for the South East, High Chief Elvis Livinus Chijiuba Aniebo; Enugu State Coordinator, Comrade Udoagha Ani; and National Coordinator, Ambassador Isaac Chigozie Udeh, the movement said its decision followed consultations and an assessment of the governor’s performance since assuming office.

RHGM highlighted areas such as road construction, urban renewal, healthcare expansion, education initiatives, investment promotion, and efforts to improve security across Enugu State as reasons for its support.

The group also praised Governor Mbah’s background in law, finance, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy, describing his experience as evidence of his commitment to public service and community development.

According to RHGM, the administration has embarked on major projects, including the development of transport infrastructure, rehabilitation of roads, expansion of healthcare facilities, restoration of water supply, agricultural programmes, and initiatives aimed at attracting private sector investments.

The movement further cited projects such as the establishment of Enugu Air, the proposed New Enugu Smart City, reconstruction of the International Conference Centre, revitalisation of the Presidential Hotel, and the Smart Green Schools and Type II Primary Healthcare Centres projects across the state.

RHGM also commended the administration’s youth empowerment programmes, including the 042 Ride Taxi Scheme, as well as its focus on education, noting the state government’s increased investment in human capital development.

The group said improved security measures under the Mbah administration had strengthened intelligence gathering, crime prevention, emergency response, and investor confidence in the state.

RHGM called on stakeholders and political actors in Enugu State to prioritise the interests of the people and support what it described as a development-driven leadership approach.

The movement maintained that Governor Mbah’s leadership has positioned Enugu on a path of sustainable growth and continued transformation.
