Enugu NDC Stakeholders Reaffirm Confidence in Anih-Led Leadership

By  Isaac Mission

Stakeholders of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Enugu State have reaffirmed their support for the State Working Committee (SWC) led by Dr. Johnpaul Anih, describing the current leadership as legitimate and instrumental to the party's growth in the state.

The endorsement followed an expanded meeting involving members of the State Working Committee, party stakeholders, candidates and other members, who commended the leadership for strengthening the party's structure and expanding its grassroots presence.

Speaking after the meeting, party leaders said the present executive emerged through a valid congress monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), insisting that any attempt to undermine the leadership would not be tolerated.

They maintained that the current administration has revitalised the party in Enugu State, attracting new members and increasing its visibility through sustained grassroots mobilisation and organisational reforms.

According to the stakeholders, the progress recorded under the present leadership has positioned the NDC to actively participate in the forthcoming local government chairmanship and councillorship elections across the state.

The leaders expressed confidence that the State Working Committee enjoys broad support from party members in all 17 local government areas of Enugu State and warned against efforts to create divisions within the party.

They also cautioned individuals allegedly working to establish parallel structures or fuel internal disputes, stressing that such actions could threaten the unity and stability of the party ahead of future elections.

The stakeholders further appealed to the party's national leadership to manage internal issues in accordance with the party's constitution and democratic principles, urging fairness and due process in resolving disagreements.

Reaffirming their loyalty to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, they called on members across the state to remain united and committed to building a stronger political platform.

The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge of support for the Dr. Johnpaul Anih-led State Working Committee, with participants insisting they would continue to protect the party's integrity and work towards achieving its political goals in Enugu State.
