The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to open dialogue with Nigerians, ensuring that all regions benefit from ongoing national reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this known on Thursday during a town hall meeting in Enugu as part of his South East citizens’ engagement tour. He explained that the initiative is designed to close communication gaps, combat misinformation, and promote participatory democracy.
“We are here to listen, share progress, and ensure that government policies reflect the real needs of our people,” the Minister said.
Idris highlighted that recent reforms such as the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of exchange rates have freed up significant funds for infrastructure and social investments across the country.
In the South East, these funds are already being used for key projects, including the Eastern Railway Corridor, a world class oncology centres in Enugu, and the rehabilitation of over 1,000 primary healthcare centres.
He also noted that the region is benefitting from business support funds, expanded student loan programs, consumer credit initiatives, and greater autonomy in the electricity market.
