Governor Mbah Mourns Buhari, Describes His Death as a National Loss

The Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, calling it a great loss to Nigeria.

In a statement personally signed by the Governor on Sunday, Mbah described Buhari as one of Nigeria’s most patriotic and sincere leaders. He recalled that Buhari served as a military Head of State in 1984 and later as a democratically elected President in 2015, noting that in both periods, he stood out for his integrity, truthfulness, and commitment to the nation.

“President Buhari was a symbol of selfless service. He was deeply committed to the development of Nigeria and the welfare of its people,” Mbah said.

He went on to describe Buhari as a humble and principled leader whose simplicity and honesty earned him admiration from millions of Nigerians and even people beyond the country.

Mbah emphasized that while Buhari’s death leaves a gap that may be hard to fill, the former president’s life continues to serve as an inspiration to future leaders.

“His legacy of service and patriotism will remain part of our national history. His contributions are carved into the sands of time,” the governor added.

Governor Mbah, on behalf of the Government and people of Enugu State, extended his heartfelt condolences to Buhari’s family, the people of Katsina State, the Federal Government, and all Nigerians.

He also prayed for God to grant the late president eternal rest.
