Tinubu Urges Diaspora to Champion Nigeria’s Growth Through Technology and Food Security

President Bola Tinubu has promised to speed up Nigeria’s development by focusing on technology, food security, and reforms. He said this while meeting with Nigerians living in Brazil on Tuesday.

Tinubu explained that his government wants to follow the success examples of countries like Brazil, which has made big progress in technology and agriculture.

“Once, Nigeria and Brazil were on the same level. Today, Brazil is far ahead. We must ask ourselves why. Nigeria has the brains, energy, and youth to succeed. Now, we must act,” Tinubu said.

The president praised Nigerians in the diaspora, calling them an important part of building a better nation. He encouraged them to support Nigeria through innovation, culture, and unity.

Tinubu admitted that the ongoing economic reforms are tough but compared them to “bitter medicine” that will bring long-term stability and growth.

He also mentioned his efforts to strengthen international partnerships that can create opportunities in technology, manufacturing, and cultural exchange.

The president further praised Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka, saying his cultural projects show that Nigerians must continue to dream and act, no matter their age.

Earlier, the leader of Nigerians in Diaspora in Brazil, Chika Emmanuel, thanked Tinubu for boosting ties between Nigeria and Brazil. He also highlighted how Nigerian students are excelling in Brazil, with the number of PhD students rising from just three to almost 300 within one and a half years.

Emmanuel assured that the Nigerian community in Brazil is ready to support national development in areas like agriculture, education, and infrastructure.
