Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State have reaffirmed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and pledged to work towards the party's success in the 2027 general elections.
The party leaders made the commitment during a stakeholders' meeting held in Obehie, where they also appealed for greater unity among APC members across the local government and the state.
The stakeholders claimed that Ukwa West has one of the largest concentrations of APC members in Abia and said they were determined to mobilise voters for Tinubu and other candidates of the party during the 2027 polls.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Don Ubani said members were committed to the President's Renewed Hope Agenda and were already putting strategies in place to secure electoral victories for the APC.
He said the party's attention at this stage should be focused on strengthening its structures and preparing adequately for the forthcoming elections rather than disagreements over political appointments.
According to Ubani, members should remain committed to the collective interests of the party and avoid distractions capable of undermining its chances at the polls.
APC stakeholders defend NDDC representative
The Ukwa West APC stakeholders also rejected calls for the removal of Eruba Dimgba, who represents Abia State on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Board.
They said Dimgba had made efforts to attract development projects to the local government and maintained that claims that the NDDC had failed to provide solar-powered street lights in communities across Ukwa West were unfounded.
The stakeholders expressed confidence that Dimgba would continue to attract development initiatives to the area, citing his relationship with the leadership and management of the NDDC as an advantage.
They further urged APC members and other party stakeholders to remain focused and resist attempts by individuals they described as acting against the party's interests to create division.
The group called for collective action among party members, stressing that unity and effective mobilisation would be crucial to securing victory for the APC in the 2027 elections.
