Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, and his wife, Natasha Osawaru, have reportedly been involved in a confrontation at a nightclub in Abuja.
The incident reportedly occurred on Friday night, August 7, 2026, during the grand opening of Faze’s 90s Lounge in Abuja, where 2Baba was scheduled to perform.
The development has sparked fresh speculation about the state of the couple’s relationship, particularly following reports that they had been living separately for more than two months.
According to reports citing a senior member of 2Baba’s management team, tension reportedly started after Natasha arrived at the venue with security personnel and several other men.
The management source alleged that the group attempted to take 2Baba away from the venue, resulting in a confrontation between the singer’s team and Natasha’s entourage.
New Telegraph reported that the management accused Natasha of attempting to abduct the singer, while Blueprint also reported the allegation but stressed that it had not been independently verified.
What reportedly happened?
Another account circulating online gives a somewhat different description of the incident.
TheNigeriaLawyer reported that Natasha allegedly arrived at the venue before 2Baba and waited for him. When the singer arrived, she reportedly approached his vehicle and demanded to speak with him.
An alleged eyewitness claimed that the two later went into the club together.
However, the publication made clear that the eyewitness account had not been independently verified and that the videos circulating online do not establish exactly what triggered the confrontation.
This is important because several versions of the incident are currently circulating online, with some portraying the situation as an attempted abduction and others describing it simply as a confrontation between a couple whose relationship is reportedly experiencing difficulties.
Were 2Baba and Natasha already separated?
According to a senior member of 2Baba’s management team cited by Blueprint and New Telegraph, the singer and Natasha had allegedly been living separately for more than two months before the Abuja incident.
The claim has not, however, been independently confirmed by either 2Baba or Natasha.
The couple’s relationship has been under public scrutiny since 2025, when 2Baba announced his separation from actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia.
He subsequently confirmed his relationship with Natasha Osawaru and later proposed to her. The pair went on to hold a private traditional wedding in July 2025.
They also welcomed a child together in November 2025.
Despite the controversies surrounding their relationship, the couple continued to appear together publicly in 2026. In May, for example, 2Baba accompanied Natasha to her political defection event in Abuja, where she publicly described him as her “amazing supportive husband.”
Previous controversies
The latest Abuja incident comes months after another controversy involving the couple.
In December 2025, 2Baba and Natasha were heard having a heated exchange during an Instagram Live session hosted by media personality Daddy Freeze.
Former members of 2Baba’s management team had been discussing allegations concerning the singer’s relationship when 2Baba joined the broadcast and demanded that his private affairs no longer be discussed.
The incident generated widespread attention at the time.
There was also controversy surrounding 2Baba’s cancelled London performance in October 2025. While reports circulated alleging that he had been arrested following an altercation with Natasha, 2Baba publicly denied the arrest narrative and said he had missed the performance because of a medical emergency.
What about the claim that 2Baba said he was no longer interested?

A version of the story circulating online claims that 2Baba had previously told Natasha that he was no longer interested in continuing their relationship and that he reiterated this privately during the Abuja incident.
I could not find a credible independent source confirming that specific statement.
I therefore would not present the quotation “I am no longer interested” as a direct quote from 2Baba in an EOTV report unless a recording, statement from the singer, his management, Natasha or another reliable firsthand source becomes available.
Similarly, the claim that Natasha arrived with about 20 men, that she attempted to put 2Baba inside her vehicle and that she remained outside shouting after his team drove him away could not be independently confirmed from the stronger news reports I found.
TheNigeriaLawyer specifically noted that the videos circulating online do not clearly establish what triggered the confrontation.
2Baba reportedly seen with police authorities
The incident has also generated reports about 2Baba’s interaction with police authorities after the confrontation.
Blueprint reported that the singer was subsequently seen in connection with police authorities, although details of any official investigation or complaint remained unclear.
There is currently no reliable confirmation that Natasha was arrested or that anyone was formally charged over the incident.
No official account from Natasha
As of the latest reports reviewed by EOTV, Natasha Osawaru had not publicly provided her own detailed account of what happened at the Abuja venue.
Efforts to obtain clarification from 2Baba’s management were also reportedly unsuccessful in one of the reports, with the phone number said to have been switched off.
This means that the public currently has competing accounts of what happened, with much of the information coming from alleged eyewitnesses and 2Baba’s management side.
EOTV’s position
The reported confrontation is significant because it involves two highly recognisable public figures and has generated considerable discussion online.
However, the most serious allegation — that there was an attempt to abduct 2Baba — remains an allegation and should not be presented as an established fact.
Likewise, claims about the number of people who accompanied Natasha, what exactly was said between the couple, whether she attempted to force 2Baba into a vehicle, and whether police intervention resulted in any formal action remain unclear.
EOTV will continue to monitor the situation and update this report if 2Baba, Natasha, their representatives or the police provide an official account.
For now, the confirmed position is that multiple Nigerian news outlets have reported a confrontation involving 2Baba and Natasha at an Abuja nightclub event on August 7, but the full circumstances surrounding the incident remain unverified.
