Fresh concerns have been raised over the security situation in parts of Enugu State following reports of attacks and kidnappings in communities within Udi and Nsukka Local Government Areas.

The latest incident reportedly occurred on Sunday morning in Affa, Udi Local Government Area, where suspected gunmen allegedly invaded a church during a service and abducted some worshippers.

According to information circulating online, the armed men entered the church while members were gathered for Sunday worship. The incident reportedly caused fear and confusion among the congregation as the attackers took some people away.

One of the victims, who was said to be a catechist in the church, later narrated his experience and explained how the attack happened.

The catechist reportedly said that the worshippers were gathered inside the church for Sunday service when the gunmen suddenly attacked. According to his account, the attackers took a seminarian and other church members away.

He explained that one of the suspected kidnappers instructed him to return while the other victims were taken into the surrounding bush.
