The All Progressives Grand Alliance candidate for the Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Prince Chukwudi Oli, has called on women to play a leading role in promoting peace, unity and positive values within their families and communities.

Oli made the call while speaking to women during their annual August Meeting at the Obu Umunri Hall in Enugu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The APGA candidate joined the women in celebrating their unity, cultural heritage and contributions to the development of the community.

He emphasised the important role women play in building peaceful families and shaping the character of younger generations.

According to him, mothers have a significant influence on the values, behaviour and future outlook of children, making their role crucial to the development of peaceful and stable communities.

Oli urged the women to promote tolerance, understanding, mutual respect and love within their homes, stressing that peaceful families are essential to building progressive societies.

He also encouraged them to lead by example, noting that children learn not only from the instructions they receive from their parents but also from the behaviour and character they observe at home.

The lawmaker hopeful appealed to mothers to demonstrate qualities such as honesty, discipline, kindness, responsibility and respect, saying these values would help raise children who would become responsible citizens.

Oli further urged the women to avoid unnecessary divisions and strengthen solidarity among themselves.

He said a united and purposeful group of women could make significant contributions to family stability, social cohesion and community development.

“Where women are united, families become stronger; where families are stronger, communities become more peaceful and progressive,” he said.

He encouraged the women to continue supporting one another and prioritise the collective interest and development of Enugu-Ukwu above personal differences.

The event was attended by the traditional ruler of Enugu-Ukwu, His Royal Highness, Igwe Ralph Ekpeh.

The traditional ruler commended Oli for identifying with the women and supporting the annual gathering.

He also appreciated the APGA candidate for his continued engagement with the community and his commitment to its development.
