Davido Calls Out Osun Senator Fadahunsi Over Alleged Threat Against Accord Party Members

By Isaac Mission

Afrobeats star Davido has criticised Senator Francis Fadahunsi over a viral video in which the lawmaker was allegedly heard making threatening remarks against members and supporters of the Accord Party ahead of the Osun State governorship election.

Davido reacted after a video surfaced online showing Fadahunsi speaking in Yoruba and allegedly calling on supporters to prevent Accord Party members from participating in the election.

In the video, the senator was allegedly heard making remarks that appeared to encourage attacks against Accord Party members and their families, while also stating that they would not be allowed to vote even if they arrived at polling units with their Permanent Voter Cards.

The remarks have generated reactions on social media, with Davido expressing concern over what he described as an attempt by a serving senator to encourage violence and deepen political divisions in the state.

The singer questioned why a federal lawmaker would make statements that could potentially incite attacks during an already tense election period.

Davido has, in recent days, been vocal on social media about political developments in Osun State and has publicly expressed support for his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, ahead of the governorship election.

Hours before his reaction to Fadahunsi's alleged comments, Davido had also responded to a video involving the Ooni of Ife and Governor Adeleke.

In the post, the singer criticised the opposition, accusing the All Progressives Congress of attempting to hinder progress in Osun State.

The controversy surrounding Fadahunsi's alleged remarks comes amid heightened political tension ahead of the August 15 Osun governorship election.

However, Fadahunsi has subsequently denied that his comments were a call for physical violence, saying he meant “kill Accord” with votes rather than through attacks. The original allegations concerning the video could not be independently verified at the time of publication.
