The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to continue developmental projects in the South East region, ensuring that Enugu and other states benefit from President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, made this statement during a three day citizens’ engagement and project inspection tour in Enugu and Ebonyi States. The tour aims to interact directly with residents and showcase ongoing federal projects in the region.
In Enugu, the minister inspected the dualization of the Enugu Port Harcourt Federal Road, the construction of a flyover linking Enugu and Abakaliki at Ike Obinagu, and another flyover at Amakwa Junction.
He also visited the oncology centre at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), where he expressed satisfaction with its progress in providing cancer treatment. Idris shared the story of a woman who previously had to travel to Lagos for care but can now receive better treatment in Enugu thanks to the new facility.
The minister noted that six oncology centres are being established nationwide, three already completed and three still under construction. He credited President Tinubu and Health Minister Prof. Ali Pate for driving these health sector improvements.
Idris assured that the federal government will continue delivering infrastructure and healthcare projects so that the dividends of democracy reach the people of Enugu and the South East as a whole.
