Enugu State has been selected as the host location for the 2026 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, with the prestigious ceremony scheduled to take place in November.
The hosting rights were formally handed over to Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah following a visit by a delegation from the BON Awards team.
BON Awards founder Seun Oloketuyi led the delegation, which included the event’s Executive Producer, Feranmi Olaoye, actor Enyinna Nwigwe, Tomi Falade and Olukizzy Michael.
Oloketuyi announced the development on Instagram after the delegation met with Governor Mbah. He said the governor had pledged to deliver a world-class ceremony that would bring together prominent names from Nigeria’s film industry.
The 2026 BON Awards are expected to attract leading Nollywood actors, filmmakers, producers and other industry professionals, while also celebrating individuals whose work has contributed significantly to the growth of the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Earlier in July, the organisers revealed four recipients of this year’s Special Recognition Awards. The honourees are veteran actor Pete Edochie, actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri, Peju Ogunmola and Steve Sodiya.
According to the organisers, the four personalities were chosen in recognition of their impact and contributions across different areas of Nollywood.
The November event will therefore serve as another major platform for celebrating the achievements of Nigeria’s film industry, with Enugu set to welcome Nollywood stars and other entertainment stakeholders for the ceremony.
