Iran Missile Hits Israel Chemical Plant

By Peace Orjiani — Enugu Online TV

An Iranian ballistic missile struck a major chemical facility in southern Israel on March 25, triggering a powerful explosion and a fire outbreak near the site.

The missile reportedly hit the ICL Rotem chemical complex, located in the Rotem Industrial Zone close to Dimona. The facility houses infrastructure belonging to several industrial and technology companies.

The impact caused a large blast, with reports indicating that flames broke out within the industrial area shortly after the strike. The full extent of damage and possible casualties has not yet been officially confirmed.

The targeted facility is operated by ICL Group, one of Israel’s largest chemical companies.

According to reports, the Rotem complex plays a significant role in the extraction and processing of phosphate resources. These materials are exported to various international facilities, including in the United States.

The facility has also been linked to the production of white phosphorus, a controversial substance used in military operations.

The strike is part of a wider escalation in hostilities between Iran and Israel, with multiple missile and drone attacks reported in recent days.

Earlier the same day, an Iranian missile reportedly struck near a power facility in Hadera, while another impact was recorded in Safad, a northern Israeli city.

Iran’s military, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, stated that some of the targets were linked to Israeli military infrastructure.

The latest attack comes amid an intensifying campaign by Tehran targeting Israeli and United States interests across the region.

Reports indicate that US military bases in countries such as Bahrain and Iraq have also come under drone and missile attacks in recent days.

In addition, Iran has reportedly taken steps to disrupt maritime activity in the Strait of Hormuz, further heightening tensions in global energy and security markets.

The missile strike on the Rotem chemical complex highlights the growing scale of the conflict in the Middle East. With repeated attacks on strategic infrastructure and military-linked sites, fears are rising over a broader regional confrontation and its potential global impact.
