Nigeria's top sprint star and former world record holder, Tobi Amusan, officially wrapped up her demanding 2026 athletics season with an impressive podium finish at the high-profile Athlos meeting hosted at StoneX Stadium in Barnet, London. Competing against an elite field of international athletes, the Nigerian hurdler delivered a strong performance that thrilled fans and capped off another rigorous year on the global track circuit.
During the intensely competitive women's 100m hurdles final, Amusan crossed the finish line with a time of 12.51 seconds under a legal tailwind of +1.2m/s. Her stellar effort landed her in second place, missing the top spot by a razor-thin margin of just 0.01 seconds. American competitor Alaysha Johnson clinched the victory and the premier crown by clocking 12.50 seconds, marking a dramatic conclusion to a marathon 40-race campaign for the winner.
For her runner-up performance, Amusan was rewarded with $35,000 in prize money. The race featured other top-tier names in international athletics, including the Bahamas' Commonwealth Games champion and world indoor record holder Devynne Charlton, alongside Jamaica's former world champion Danielle Williams, who tied for third place with a time of 12.63 seconds.
