Nigerian military forces operating under the Joint Task Force North West, known as Operation Fansan Yamma, have successfully rescued six kidnapped individuals during separate intelligence-led operations conducted across Kaduna and Katsina states. Details of the successful missions were made public through an official statement released by the media information officer for the command.
In Kaduna State, troops stationed under Sector 1 acted on credible intelligence regarding a kidnapping incident within the Igabi Local Government Area. The soldiers intercepted suspected terrorists who were actively moving a group of captives. Upon realizing the military presence, the suspects abandoned their victims and fled into the surrounding area in disarray.
The three rescued individuals in the Kaduna operation were identified as Enock Hussaini, Abba Dauda, and Kalif Haruna. Official reports confirmed that they had originally been abducted by armed men from Gidan Gulbi Village. Following their rescue, the victims underwent standard debriefing processes before being safely reunited with their families, while military patrols continued to dominate the general vicinity.
A separate operation took place in Katsina State, where troops of Sector 2 responded swiftly to a distress call concerning the abduction of civilians along the Dandume-Damari axis within the Dandume Local Government Area. The military units mobilized quickly to the location and engaged the suspected terrorists with superior firepower, compelling the criminals to abandon their captives and retreat into nearby bushes.
Troops pursued the fleeing attackers and successfully secured three additional civilian victims, identified as Abubakar Abdulkadir, Mansir Idris, and Abubakar Aliyu. Additionally, a black Golf vehicle belonging to the victims was recovered during the operation. The rescued individuals were escorted and released so they could continue their journey safely.
Command representatives emphasized that these successful operations highlight the unwavering commitment of Operation Fansan Yamma to protect innocent citizens, disrupt criminal networks, and deny terrorists any freedom of movement across the region. Members of the public have been continually urged to maintain high vigilance and report suspicious movements or activities to local security agencies promptly.
