Enugu Air to Launch Commercial Flights on Monday, July 7
Enugu Air, the new state owned airline from Enugu, is officially launching its commercial flights on Monday, July 7, 2025
This venture is part of Governor Peter Mbah’s broader plan to build a modern, multimodal transport system and position Enugu as a key aviation center.
The official launch ceremony will take place at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, with the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, SAN, set to attend as Special Guest of Honour.
Enugu Air will begin operations with three Embraer jets, two E‑170s and one E‑190, selected for their fuel efficiency, passenger comfort, and suitability for regional flights.
Initial routes will form a “golden triangle” connecting Enugu, Abuja, and Lagos. Plans are also in place to expand services to Port Harcourt, Owerri, Benin, Kano, and other strategic destinations across Nigeria and the region.
Dr. Obi Ozor, the Commissioner for Transportation, emphasized that the airline represents a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and enhancing Enugu’s national and global standing.
