FG Establishes New Federal University of Agriculture in Enugu
The Federal Government has officially established the Federal University of Agriculture in Ako Nike, Enugu State.
This follows President Bola Tinubu’s approval of a bill earlier passed by the National Assembly to create the university.
Reacting to the news, Prof. Paul Nnamchi, who represents Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, thanked the president for signing the bill into law.
In a statement released in Abuja, Prof. Nnamchi said:
“On behalf of the people of Enugu East and Isi Uzo, I sincerely thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for making the university a reality. This is a big step forward for our constituency, the South East, and Nigeria as a whole.”
He added that the new university will become a major center for agricultural research, rural development, and quality education, which will help improve food production, create jobs, and contribute to national growth.
According to him, the president’s action shows strong and inclusive leadership under the Renewed Hope Agenda, giving attention to areas that were once overlooked.
Prof. Nnamchi also praised the National Assembly and everyone involved for supporting the establishment of the university.
He concluded by saying that Ako-Nike is no longer just a place known for rich farmlands, but now also a growing center of learning, progress, and national importance.
