First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has presented a ₦500 million cheque to Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his wife, Dr Nonye Soludo, as part of the Federal Government’s National Community Food Bank Programme.

The funds are earmarked to support vulnerable residents in Anambra State through the food security initiative, which is aimed at providing assistance to Nigerians facing hardship and food insecurity.

The cheque was handed over to Governor Soludo and his wife during an official engagement in Anambra on Thursday, September 10, 2026.

Although the occasion centred on a government intervention programme, the event also featured a lively moment when Fuji musician K1 De Ultimate’s song, “Adé Orí Òkin,” was played.

Tinubu, alongside the Anambra governor and his wife, joined in the dancing, creating a celebratory scene during the presentation.

The National Community Food Bank Programme is a Federal Government initiative established to provide food-related assistance to vulnerable Nigerians across the country.

The ₦500 million allocation to Anambra is expected to be channelled to beneficiaries of the programme in the state.

However, details regarding the number of beneficiaries to receive assistance from the allocation and when the funds or food support will reach them were not disclosed during the presentation.

The handover represents part of the Federal Government’s broader effort to address hunger and improve access to food for vulnerable communities across Nigeria.
