The All Progressives Congress (APC) and members of the business community in Enugu State have applauded Governor Peter Mbah for what they described as significant progress recorded by his administration over the past three and a half years.
The commendation was made on Wednesday during the presentation of a compendium documenting the achievements of the Mbah administration at the International Conference Centre in Enugu.
Speaking at the event, the APC National Chairman (South), Ben Nwoye, said the level of development achieved under Mbah reflected the governor’s knowledge, administrative ability and capacity to drive transformation.
Nwoye called on residents to examine the projects and reforms contained in the compendium as they consider their choices ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
According to him, the achievements of the administration provide sufficient grounds for Mbah to remain in office for a second term and complete initiatives already underway.
He also appealed to residents of Enugu North and Enugu West senatorial districts to support the continuity of the administration, citing the state’s history of governors serving two terms.
Nwoye recalled that former governors Chimaroke Nnamani, Sullivan Chime and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi each served two terms, arguing that Mbah should similarly be given the opportunity to complete eight years in office.
He further charged APC members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and ensure that the administration’s projects and policies are effectively communicated to voters ahead of the elections.
The Enugu State APC Chairman, Martin Chukwunweike, said the party would rely heavily on the achievements outlined in the compendium during its campaigns.
Chukwunweike maintained that the administration’s performance had contributed to the party’s previous electoral gains and expressed confidence that its record would strengthen the party’s chances in future elections.
Representing the organised private sector, Ugo Chime, head of COPEN Group, also praised the governor’s approach to governance.
Chime described the administration’s work as “powerful, disruptive and innovative,” noting that the private sector had viewed Mbah as one of its own before he entered government.
He said Mbah’s private-sector background had positioned him to bring business-oriented experience and ideas into public administration.
The event provided a platform for political and business stakeholders to highlight projects and reforms attributed to the Mbah administration since it assumed office.
