The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate for Abia North in the 2027 elections, Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole, has said the district requires a representative with proven legislative experience and the capacity to deliver meaningful development.
Nkole, a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ex-member of the House of Representatives for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, said his previous experience in public service has given him a strong understanding of the responsibilities involved in federal representation.
According to him, effective representation should go beyond political promises and focus on addressing the practical needs of communities across Abia North.
“As a former member of the House of Representatives for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, I fully know and understand the responsibilities of federal representation and the importance of connecting communities to meaningful development,” Nkole said.
He outlined infrastructure, education, youth and women empowerment, human capital development and the attraction of federal projects as key areas of his proposed agenda for the senatorial district.
The NDC candidate also maintained that the 2027 election should be centred on competence, experience, ideas and the ability to produce measurable results rather than simply winning a party ticket.
“Abia North needs a representative who understands the system, can articulate the concerns of the people and is prepared to work for development,” he said.
Nkole described himself as a candidate whose record in public service had prepared him for a greater legislative responsibility, urging voters across Abia North to support the NDC in the 2027 elections.
He further said the party, which he identified as being led at the national level by Peter Obi as its presidential candidate and Rabiu Kwankwaso as its vice-presidential candidate, represents an alternative political platform at both the executive and legislative levels.
Nkole expressed confidence that Nigeria would experience improved governance and greater security under an NDC administration if the party wins the 2027 elections.
