The member representing the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Donald Kimikanboh Ojogo, has distributed 4,500 bags of rice to residents across his constituency in Ondo State. The large-scale empowerment and palliative initiative was organized to provide immediate food security relief to households grappling with economic pressures.
The distribution event took place at the Teachers Hall, Okoga, Igbokoda, drawing a massive gathering of community representatives, political leaders, youth groups, women organizations, traditional rulers, and artisans. Former House of Representatives member Hon. Victor Kolade Akinjo chaired the occasion and commended the intervention, describing it as a genuine fulfillment of legislative responsibility and a thoughtful response to the needs of the constituents.
Under the distribution layout, each political ward in the constituency received 100 bags of rice, while various prominent associations and interest groups also benefited. Among the recipient groups were the Niger Delta Youth Movement, Ilaje Patriots, student unions, transport worker unions, market women associations, and persons living with disabilities.
Speaking to the beneficiaries, Hon. Ojogo revealed that the food items were successfully secured through his active facilitation with the National Productivity Centre in Abuja. He emphasized that elected officials must continuously leverage federal institutions and opportunities to attract tangible resources back to their local communities.
Beyond the humanitarian relief, the federal lawmaker used the platform to rally constituents behind national leadership. He urged the people of Ilaje and Ese-Odo to give their unflinching support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to him, backing the current administration is vital to ensuring that ongoing structural reforms, economic policies, and developmental programs are fully consolidated for the long-term benefit of the country.
Local stakeholders and community members expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, noting that the palliative support arrived at a critical time to ease domestic hardships.
