CIoD Nigeria Appoints Dr. Taiwo Nolas-Alausa as New Director General/CE

The Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria (CIoD Nigeria) has appointed Dr. Taiwo Nolas Alausa as its new Director General and Chief Executive Officer (DG/CEO). His appointment takes effect from August 1, 2025.

This announcement was made by the Institute’s President, Otunba Adetunji Oyebanji, during a press briefing on Friday. Dr. Nolas Alausa succeeds Mr. Bamidele Alimi, who just completed his second and final four-year term on July 31, 2025.

This leadership change marks an important step for CIoD Nigeria as it continues its mission to promote good corporate governance, ethical leadership, and director professionalism in Nigeria.

President Oyebanji described Dr. Nolas Alausa was a highly experienced learning and development expert with over 22 years of leadership experience across Africa. He brings valuable knowledge in strategic planning, communication, and building institutional capacity.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Taiwo Nolas Alausa. His deep background in human capital development and leadership training makes him a strong asset to CIoD Nigeria,” said Oyebanji.

Dr. Nolas Alausa has held several major roles throughout his career, including:

Director of Business Education Services and Training at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), where he led programs to improve business skills and executive learning, Regional Head of Learning and Skills Development (West Africa) at ISON Experiences, designing and running training programs for companies like MTN, Airtel, and Union Bank,He has worked across many industries, including telecoms, finance, education, oil & gas, entertainment, and small business development.

Dr. Nolas-Alausa is also an accomplished scholar and author. He holds: A PhD in English and Comparative Literature from Babcock University, A Master’s in International Relations and Strategic Studies from Lagos State University, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English from the University of Lagos

As the new DG/CEO, he is expected to lead the institute’s strategic plans, improve member benefits, build stronger relationships with stakeholders, and promote reforms in corporate governance.

“With his leadership, we believe CIoD Nigeria will continue to be a respected voice in Nigeria’s business space and a symbol of boardroom excellence,” said Oyebanji.

Dr. Nolas Alausa’s appointment reflects the Institute’s commitment to growth, innovation, and inclusive leadership.
