Speaking during the launch, Governor Peter Mbah said the project is a major step toward modern transportation and reducing pollution caused by fuel-powered vehicles. With this great achievement, Enugu became one of the first states in Nigeria to build and use electric cars locally, Charging Stations and Tech Support.
As part of the project, the government is also setting up solar-powered charging stations in different parts of the state. The first of such stations was recently opened at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) to encourage the use of electric vehicles among students and staff.
