Innovation Minister to Deliver Keynote at Enugu Gaming Conference 2026

Nigeria's drive to expand its digital economy through innovation and technology will be in focus later this month as the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, is set to headline the Enugu Gaming Conference (EGC) 2026.

Dr. Udeh, who will serve as the conference's Special Guest of Honour, is expected to present the Federal Government's roadmap for harnessing innovation, homegrown technology and digital entrepreneurship to strengthen Nigeria's rapidly expanding gaming ecosystem and create new economic opportunities.

The conference will hold from July 29 to 30 at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Enugu, bringing together policymakers, gaming regulators, technology experts, investors, operators, legal professionals and entrepreneurs to discuss the future of Nigeria's iGaming industry.

Hosted by Events Arcade Solutions Limited in collaboration with the Enugu State Gaming and Lotteries Commission (ESGC), this year's event is themed: "Code, Capital and Compliance: Unlocking Nigeria's iGaming Tech Opportunity."

According to the organisers, the minister's participation underscores the Federal Government's growing recognition of gaming technology as an important contributor to Nigeria's digital transformation, with the potential to stimulate innovation, attract investment and generate employment.

During his keynote address, Dr. Udeh is expected to highlight how science, technology and innovation can accelerate economic diversification, encourage local technology development and position Nigeria as a leading player in Africa's emerging digital industries.

The conference will also feature a lineup of renowned speakers, including Peter Kesitilwe, Chief Executive Officer of the African iGaming Alliance, who will moderate the Government-Industry Roundtable; Jeremiah Maangi, Founder of iGaming Afrika, Kenya; and Kelani Opeyemi Mercy, Co-founder of Isoftnova Technologies Limited. They will be joined by regulators, fintech leaders, gaming technology developers, investors, startup founders and legal experts.

Commenting on the event, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Enugu State Gaming and Lotteries Commission, Prince Arinze Arum, said the minister's confirmation demonstrates increasing confidence in the conference as a strategic platform for advancing Nigeria's gaming technology ecosystem.

He explained that the gathering would deepen collaboration between the public and private sectors while encouraging innovation, responsible regulation and sustainable investment across the industry.

Arum further noted that emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software engineering, digital payment systems, regulatory technology and data analytics are transforming the gaming landscape, making technological innovation essential for long-term growth and competitiveness.

The two-day conference will feature keynote sessions, executive panel discussions, regulatory roundtables, technical masterclasses, exhibitions, networking opportunities and a Gaming Tech Startup Showcase, where innovators will present solutions in gaming software, fraud prevention, responsible gaming and digital payment technologies.

Participants are expected from government institutions, gaming regulatory agencies, technology companies, financial organisations, universities, development partners and venture capital firms across Africa, reinforcing Enugu's growing status as a hub for technology, investment and digital policy conversations.
