More than 40 patients receiving treatment at two hospitals in Enugu State have received financial relief after the FC Trust Foundation settled their outstanding medical bills.

The intervention, led by the foundation’s Chairman, Francis Chukwu, covered beneficiaries at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Ituku-Ozalla, and the ESUT Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu.

According to the foundation, the initiative was designed to assist indigent patients who were unable to clear their hospital bills and, in some cases, faced difficulties securing discharge despite completing their treatment.

Members of the foundation visited the two healthcare facilities and paid the outstanding bills of several patients in full. The assistance enabled some beneficiaries who had completed their treatment to leave the hospitals.

The gesture was welcomed by the affected patients and their relatives, who expressed appreciation for the support at a time when they were struggling with the financial burden of healthcare.

Medical workers at the hospitals also praised the foundation for the intervention, noting that such assistance can make a significant difference for patients who lack the resources to settle their treatment costs.

Chukwu explained that the FC Trust Foundation was established to provide practical support to vulnerable members of society and respond to the needs of people facing difficult circumstances.

The latest intervention forms part of the foundation’s efforts to provide assistance to people in need within the community.
