Jigawa Commissioner of Police Presents N25.9m Cheques to Families of Fallen Officers

The Jigawa State Police Command has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the welfare of its personnel by presenting cheques valued at over N25.9 million to the families of police officers who lost their lives while in active service. The financial support was disbursed under the Inspector-General of Police Family Welfare Insurance Scheme and other related welfare packages designed to alleviate the financial burdens faced by the next of kin left behind by fallen heroes.

During the presentation ceremony held at the state command headquarters, the Commissioner of Police expressed deep sympathy and condolences to the grieving families. He acknowledged the immense sacrifices, dedication, and bravery exhibited by the departed officers who paid the ultimate price to maintain law, order, and security within Jigawa State and the country at large. According to the command, no amount of financial compensation can truly replace a loved one, but these benefits serve as a vital cushion to help families manage life after the loss of their primary breadwinner.

The beneficiaries included spouses and close relatives of officers who died from various circumstances while discharging their official duties. Representatives of the families expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Nigeria Police Force leadership and the Jigawa State command for remembering them and ensuring that their entitlements were processed and delivered without unnecessary delays. They noted that the gesture provides a sense of belonging and reassures serving officers that their service and sacrifices are deeply valued.

Furthermore, the police leadership used the occasion to encourage remaining personnel to continue executing their duties with utmost professionalism, integrity, and courage. The command reiterated its ongoing promise to prioritize personnel welfare, medical support, and prompt payment of entitlements to both active and retired officers, as well as the families of those who have passed on.

This initiative highlights the broader administrative push within Nigeria's security apparatus to boost morale and strengthen institutional support systems for law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line daily.
