Pinnacle Oil and Gas Limited has announced its support for the 2026 Enugu City International Marathon, becoming the event’s official energy partner as part of its broader focus on health, wellness and community development.
The marathon, organised by Nilayo Sports Management Limited with the backing of the Enugu State Government, is expected to promote fitness, athletics and tourism while giving Enugu greater visibility as a destination for international sporting events.
Speaking on the partnership, Pinnacle’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Adenike Labinjo, said the company views the sponsorship as an extension of its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
Labinjo explained that while Pinnacle’s core operations support businesses and industries through petroleum products, lubricants and related services, the company also believes in encouraging initiatives that improve the wellbeing of individuals and communities.
She said the marathon aligns with Pinnacle’s belief that a prosperous society should be measured not only by economic growth and infrastructure but also by the health, aspirations and opportunities available to its people.
According to her, supporting the Enugu City International Marathon provides the company with an opportunity to promote healthier lifestyles, stronger communities and greater productivity.
The partnership further highlights the growing role of corporate organisations in supporting sports, tourism and social development initiatives across Nigeria.
