An X user, Bayo Bilisi, has challenged supporters of former Anambra State governor Peter Obi to identify someone who attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and graduated alongside the 2027 presidential hopeful.
Bilisi announced a ₦5 million wager in a post on X, directing the challenge at members of the Obidient Movement.
According to him, anyone who can provide the name of a person who studied with Obi at UNN and graduated around the same period should come forward with evidence.
He gave interested participants seven days to produce the information.
Bilisi proposes escrow for ₦5m wager
To demonstrate his seriousness, Bilisi described the challenge as “No be Cho Cho Cho” and suggested that the money be placed in escrow.
He proposed that popular X personality Wizarab10 keep the funds independently while the claim is being investigated.
What is known about Peter Obi’s UNN education?
Available biographical records indicate that Obi began his studies at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1980.
He completed his programme in 1984, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. Obi has also maintained links with the institution and has visited UNN on different occasions for engagements with students.
However, the social media challenge does not establish that Obi had no classmates or that nobody else graduated from the university with him.
Any definitive confirmation would require credible evidence, such as official university records, accounts from former classmates or other verifiable documentation.
Obi’s political journey ahead of 2027
The ₦5 million wager has generated attention online as Bilisi continues to call on Obi’s supporters to provide the evidence he is seeking.
Obi reportedly left the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on May 2, 2026, and was subsequently ratified as the presidential candidate of the New Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general election on May 29, 2026.
The development comes amid growing political activity ahead of the 2027 elections and renewed discussions surrounding Obi’s political career and academic background.
